Question of the week: <\/strong>Are there genes in the human genome that cause people to become psychopaths? Is it possible that psychopathic behavior is not a choice? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

My answer: <\/strong>As there are genes in the human genome that make some people more susceptible to alcoholism or drug abuse than the rest of the human population on average, likewise there are genes that make some people more susceptible to certain kinds of psychopathic behavior. None of these genetic tendencies, however, compel anyone toward alcoholism, drug abuse, or psychopathic behavior. God has granted to each of us the resources to resist such tendencies. Furthermore, God holds us responsible to resist such tendencies and offers his help in resisting such tendencies. In 1 Corinthians 10:13<\/a> God promises not to subject us to temptations beyond what we can, with his help, bear.  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
